UPIN, NPI and Health E Claims

UPIN, NPI and Health E Claims Announcement: Unique Physician Identification Numbers - UPIN's - will be treated as a provider legacy number by governmental payers on May 23, 2008. For ENS, Ingenix providers who use Health E Claims and have their UPIN number loaded in Manage Provider Information, you will need to remove the UPIN to avoid claim rejections after May 23, 2008.

Provider action required: If you bill governmental payers through Health E Claims, please remove the UPIN number from Manage Provider Information prior to May 23, 2008.
